WEST POINT, N.Y. – The preseason honors continue for the Army West Point football team. Friday, Jeremy Timpf added another accolade when he was named to the Bronko Nagurski Watch List, the Football Writers of Association of American announced.
A junior linebacker from Tucson, Ariz., Timpf is one of 88 players to be considered for the award presented to the nation's best defensive player. Scooby Wright from Arizona won the award last season and is among the 88 players on the watch list.
Timpf has previously been named to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List as defensive player of the year as well as the Lott IMPACT Trophy. Center Matt Hugenberg is on the Rimington Trophy Watch List for the nation's top center and Alex Tardieu is being considered for the Ray Guy Award for the top punter in the country. Read More
