WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point's Alex Tardieu is included on the Watch List for the 2015 Ray Guy Award, which honors the nation's top punter, the Augusta Sports Council announced today. Tardieu, a senior from Grants Pass, Ore., is one of 25 athletes included in the list of Football Bowl Subdivsion punters. Last year' winner, Tom Hackett of Utah, and fellow finalists Austin Rehkow of Idaho and JK Scott of Alabama are also included.
Ten semifinalists will be selected in November and a national body of coaches, media and previous Ray Guy Award winners will vote for the top three finalists. After the finalists are named, the voting body will cast ballots again for the nation's top punter. The winner will be announced during the Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN on Dec. 10. Tardieu punted 44 times in 2014, averaging 39.3 yards per boot. He registered six punts of 50 yards or more and had 18 downed inside the opponents' 20 yard-line with only one touchback. Read More
