The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team took down a pair of Academy records and picked up 133 points on the first day of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational at Lejeune Hall. With 133 points, Army currently sits in third behind George Washington (226.5) and Grand Canyon (145), while holding a slight lead over Denver (129) and South Carolina (123). Tom Ottman was the first Cadet to break an Academy record at the meet after he hit the wall at 4:20.66 in the 500 free for a second-place finish. The record was previously set by Ottman at the Patriot League Championships two weeks ago. It was then Peter Mikheyev's turn to get into the water and he showed out in the 200 IM. The yearling won the event with a time of 1:45.48, breaking the Academy record that he set at this year's league championships. Brian McKenrick also scored for Army in the 200 IM, placing seventh after posting a time of 1:50.71. In the 50 free, Josh Zock (20.78) and Billy Webber (20.12) finished third and eighth, respectively, scoring for the Black Knights in the B-Final.
