Lindner Named Preseason All-Patriot League

The Army West Point baseball team saw firstie Kris Lindner voted to the 2017 Preseason All-Patriot League Team on Tuesday. Lindner, a 2016 All-Patriot League First Team selection, was the team's leading hitter last season after starting 46 of the team's 48 games at shortstop. His .315 clip led the Black Knights and ranked 10th league-wide, recording a team-high 52 hits in 165 at bats. The Morehead City, NC native's on-base percentage of .430 ranked fourth among Patriot League hitters, while his 14 stolen bases placed him second. His 13 hit by pitches were the most in the Patriot League. He also led Army with 35 runs scored, eight doubles, 21 walks and a slugging percentage of .394. The conference also announced Tuesday its 2017 baseball preseason poll. Last year's Patriot League runner-up, Holy Cross was tabbed first with six first-place votes and 46 overall points.
