The Army Alpine and Free Ski Teams competed in its last regular season Atlantic Highlands Conference competition. The men finished 2nd overall in regular season competition behind Fairfield College. The Army Men’s Alpine team ripped a regular season ending 3rd in Giant Slalom (GS) and 2nd in Slalom (SL) sealing its qualification at the Regional Championships. Harkins ’18 5th in GS and 1st in SL. Harkins was also recognized as 3rd best individual male alpine racer in conference, Flanagan ’20 was 7th in GS and 2nd in SL, Walters ’20 11th in GS and 13th in SL. Whitlow ’20 19th in GS and 14th in SL, Kearney ’17 15th in SL finishing out the top 20 individual racing results. Plebes Carter and Argueta also raced in both disciplines gaining valuable mileage and race experience. The women also qualified for Regional Championships. Blaise Paulo, 2018 finished 19th in GS and 15th in SL and Harvey ’20 finished 24th in GS and 19th in SL. They finished 4th overall in conference. The Freestyle team made its presence felt with Paul ’18 in snowboard and McCarthy ’20 in ski slopestyle and Big Air competitions. Both Freestyle athletes qualified and will compete in the Regional Championships. McCarthy won 1st overall in conference for individual male ski freestyle athlete for the season.
