Turner's Academy Record Paces Black Knights

Led by Nick Turner's program-record performance, the Army West Point golf team defeated Florida Atlantic by a total of 24 strokes on Monday at Osprey Point Golf Club. "The team has been working extremely hard and to see it pay off in the first tournament of the spring really shows the potential of what these young men are capable of doing," said head coach Brian Watts. "To break the single round scoring record by six shots at -17 is absolutely amazing considering we didn't have a chance to play the golf course prior to the tournament today." The Black Knights set a new academy record with a 17-under performance with a 261 total score, while the Owls finished with a 285. Turner fired a program-record 8-under par score of 64 with a 30 on the back nine to secure the top spot on the leaderboard.
