Hovren Lands Third Straight Player of the Week Nod

Madison Hovren earned Patriot League Player of the Week praise for the third consecutive week after posing three double-doubles last week. The Patriot League Player of the Week recognition is the third this season for Hovren, and is also the third of her career. Hovren averaged 17.0 points and 12.3 rebounds last week and helped Army go 2-1, including victories over Wagner and Delaware. The sophomore forward finished with 18 points and 10 boards in an 85-40 win over Wagner on Dec. 5 before recording 17 points and career highs of 17 rebounds and five blocks in a loss at Minnesota. Her 17 rebounds were the most by an Army player since Jen Hazlett ’14 had 16 boards against Boston University on Feb. 26, 2014. Hovren followed up the Minnesota game with her third double-double of the week, totaling 16 points and 10 rebounds to help lead Army to a 61-47 victory over Delaware.
