Epps Nets 10th of the Season in 1-0 Win

Freshman Rex Epps scored his Patriot League-leading 10th goal of the year to send the Army West Point men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory in a nonconference match against Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday night at University Stadium. Army improves to 9-6-2 overall following the victory, while Fairleigh Dickinson falls to 3-10-3. Epps netted the only goal of the game in the 75th minute on an assist from senior Trase Stapley. Stapley beat a pair of Fairleigh Dickinson defenders before sending a low cross to the middle of the 18-yard box, where Epps scored on a high, hard shot that cleared the reach of goalkeeper Sebastian Ferreira. Freshman Justin Stoll made two saves in the first half for the Black Knights and junior Christian Nolasco didn't face a shot during the second half, as the two combined for Army's fifth clean sheet of the season.
