WPOCT at the OCR World ChampionshipsThe West Point Obstacle Course Team (WPOCT) participated in OCR World Championships at Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. The team fitted four teams: two pro and two amateur. The race was composed of four legs each focusing on a different specialization in Obstacle Course Racing. Therefore, within the three-man teams, one racer specialized in technique, one in speed, and one in strength. The legs were comprised of 10 obstacles, a 5km sprint through hills with four running obstacles, and an 800m ski slope run while carrying 60lb sandbags, respectively. The fourth leg tested teamwork and innovation where the entire team conquered obstacles together. The competitors ranged from a numerous assortment of countries to include a team from Sandhurst Military Academy. This was a remarkable opportunity for the team to display their expertise on the international field while representing the United States, the United States Military Academy, and the US Army.
