The Army Skeet and Trap team traveled to Manorville NY to compete in an interclub match up with the Peconic River Sportsmen. The Sporting clays event consisted of 15 stations totaling 100 targets presented around the venues scenic property. The Cadets, faced with the challenge of gusty winds over 30 MPH were able to break as many targets as the conditions permitted and put up a team score of 709 prevailing over Peconic's 658. High gun for Army was CDT James Manni with a 79. Afterwards Peconic hosted the cadets to a team dinner to reminisce of the day's shoot and to recognize the top guns for both teams. Peconic is looking forward to February when the Sportsmen visit West Point and attempt to even the season score. As tradition would have it, the Peconic River Sportsmen were tremendous hosts yet again going above and beyond to ensure the cadets enjoyed their visit to Long island.
