New Heat Transfer R-Hour Lab

Conduction Heat Transfer Laboratory. COL Bret Van Poppel, LTC(P) Mike Benson, and Dr. Ozer Arnas led a new R-Hour laboratory for ME480, Heat Transfer. The lab requires cadets to obtain experimental measurements of temperatures along a long copper fin that conducts heat away from a heated base plate. This lab is new this semester and the cadets universally agreed that the hands-on nature of the experience greatly contributed to their physical understanding on the importance of fins in heat transfer.
