The Army West Point Triathlon team traveled to Clemson SC to compete in the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships on 22 and 23 April 2016. There were 132 colleges and universities represented in the two-day event. The Army team had great performances with CDT Dylan Morgan ’16 placing 4th and CDT Jacob Slife ’18 placing 12th in the men’s draft-legal race. CDT Teresa Groton ’18 placed 8th in the women’s draft-legal race. CDT’s Dylan Morgan ’16, Cat Sedy ’16, Teresa Groton ’18 and Jacob Slife ’18 placed 5th in the mixed-team relay. The team competition was a combined scored from the top draft-legal men’s and women’s score and the top four men’s and women’s score on the Olympic-distance non-draft event. As a team, the men’s team was 6th and the women’s team and the combined overall team placed in the top 10 out of 132. West Point defeated Air Force and Coast Guard head-to-head and was 2nd in the Military award completion just behind Navy.
