USMA Debate Forum travelled to George Washington University in Washington, D.C., to compete in the 2016 Lafayette Debates. The Lafayette Debates tradition began in 1824 during the “hero’s tour” to the United States of General Marquis de Lafayette, and his son George Washington Lafayette. The Program was revived in 2015 with Army Debate taking home the prized General Lafayette trophy, given to the highest performing military academy. Following this culminating event of the 2016 Spring Season, West Point Debate looks to complete an alumni database and begin preparations for the 2017 season.
