Civil & Military Engineering Monster Bash

On 31 Oct., the cadet leadership from the USMA chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers at-tended the Monster Bash (trick-or-treat event) at Duchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls, NY. The three cadets engaged with more than 1,000 elementary school children at the event as part of the club’s community and STEM outreach program. On 30 Oct., eight cadets along with four faculty members visited Cornwall Central High School to take part in National Engineer Day. The USMA contingent teamed up with local professional engineers to teach engineering related topics to over 40 math classes. This marks the 8th year that local professional engineers and USMA cadets have visited Cornwell Central High School, and is something many students look forward to during the year. However, this was the first year that the cadets taught the entire class by themselves; they prepared and delivered their own lesson material and demonstrations.
