Army West Point men's soccer junior defender Christian Clark was recognized on the 12-player Division I Academic All-District first team on Thursday for his efforts on the field and in the classroom. The honorees were selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Clark is the first Black Knight to draw Academic All-District praise since Winston Boldt ’15 did it in 2013.
By earning a spot on the Academic All-District first team, Clark becomes one of 96 Division I men's soccer players from across eight regions to be eligible for the Academic All-America Team, which will be announced next month. To be nominated for the Academic All-America Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, and be a starter or significant reserve on the team with a 3.3 cumulative grade point average or higher.
