The West Point Band performed at the Belmont Stakes June 6, 2015, and witnessed history with the crowning of the first Triple Crown winner since 1978. Before American Pharoah took to the track, the marching band accompanied Master Sgt. Mary Kay Messenger on God Bless America. Following that, the West Point Military Police Color Guard joined them on the field to honor our nation and its colors with the Star Spangled Banner. Members of the trumpet section had the privilege of joining the herald trumpets of Belmont to sound trumpet calls, calling the horses to post. Click here to see more photos.
