Mechanical Engineering Capstone Cadets on Team RDD developing a deployment system for the Squad Multipurpose Equipment Transport (SMET) visited TARDEC at Selfridge Air National Guard Base (ANGB), MI. The SMET will carry modular mission payloads and the cadet team is developing a payload that will contain a MTRS Inc, II Centaur from Endeavor Robotics as well as the deployment system. Cadets viewed the SMET prototype developed by General Dynamics as well as previous ideas for unmanned ground vehicle deployment systems.
