USMA Hosts the President of Liberia

The Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering had the amazing opportunity to host the President of Liberia, the Honorable George Weah at West Point. Professor Melkon moderated a discussion with President Weah and USMA Superintendent, LTG Darryl Williams. Both spoke of the enduring relationship of the two nations and our continued military cooperation. President Weah also shared his passionate desire to lead civil advancement for his country in the areas of infrastructure, promoting commerce and improving education to give all young Liberians a chance to succeed. Cadets enrolled in the Sub-Saharan Geography course engaged him with truly provocative questions related to their own studies.
