The Army West Point Equestrian Team started their season off strong with a schooling show at Saddle River Equestrian Center in Chestnut Ridge, NY. The team competed against a variety of different competitors from all age groups and experience levels. Some of the most notable placings are as follows: Matilda Brady ’19 won both her 2’6 equitation jumping class and her 2’6 Medal equitation jumping class, Anna Jerald ’21 earned second in her 2’6 equitation jumping class and third in her 2’6 Medal equitation jumping class, Madyson Paul ’21 placed second and third in two consecutive equitation jumping classes, Taqi Iftikar ’20 won his walk-trot-canter division, Cira Wolf ’20 placed second in her walk-trot-canter division, Emma Lawson ’21 won her walk-trot division, and Victoria Kearns ’22 and Kirby Horne ’22 both placed second in their walk-trot classes. The weekend demonstrated that this year’s equestrian team is going to prove to be a formidable opponent in the coming weeks. Both new and old team members represented the team and West Point exceptionally, and they look forward to continued success in the coming months.
