The Army West Point Triathlon Team traveled to Freeport, Maine to compete in the Lobsterman Olympic triathlon. The team won the Collegiate Division beating the Coast Guard Academy, Penn State, UConn and Northeastern among others. The swim took place in the Casco Bay with water temperatures down in the 60's. CDT Jason Hunt '19 had the fastest 1500-meter swim of all athletes at 19 minutes, 48 seconds. In her second triathlon ever, CDT Ann Mulvenna '20 had the fastest swim for any woman in the race at 21:45, which was nearly 3 minutes faster than the fastest professional female triathlete in the field. CDT Hannah White '20 and CDT Thatcher Shepard '20 earned first and second place in the women's and men's collegiate division. The team secured valuable points for individuals qualifying for the USA Triathlon Collegiate Nationals and working towards their defense of the Northeast Collegiate Triathlon Conference Championship.
