The Army West Point Water Polo team traveled to the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) at Travers Island in Pelham, New York. They scrimmaged the NYAC masters team which consists of several graduated division one athletes and other high-caliber players. For the new members of the team, this scrimmage served as in introduction to the game of water polo and was their first experience playing against individuals that were not their teammates. The NYAC players would often even provide tips for the new players to help them better understand the game. For the returning players, the scrimmage acted as a litmus test. The coach and the players were able to see what skills they needed to work on to make it back to nationals and excel in the upcoming months. After the scrimmage NYAC and West Point players had the opportunity to so-cialize and talk about water polo over a quick breakfast before heading back to West Point.
