The Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering two instructors from Space & Missile Defense Command (SMDC) for the Army Space Cadre Basic Course conducted as a Military Individual Advanced Development (MIAD) for the first time ever at West Point. Twenty-seven cadets were immersed in training focused on the operational aspects of Army's Space Forces by attending briefings, conducting practical exercises, and completing exams on the fundamental knowledge associated with the application of Space-based capabilities across the warfighting domains. Coordination for the MIAD was initiated by LTC Stacy Godshall during AY18-1, and execution support was completed by LTC Diana Loucks. Course Director Brett Wetherill '03 and Instructor Charles Ogden '92 were provided by SMDCs Directorate of Training & Doctrine, Future Warfare Center.
