Surdick Honored as Inside Lacrosse All-American

Cow defenseman Johnny Surdick of the Army West Point men's lacrosse team earned Inside Lacrosse Media All-America honors, announced on Sunday night. Surdick, who garnered First Team All-Patriot League accolades, was voted to the second team for his junior campaign. "It is a tremendous and deserved honor for John to be recognized as one of the very best at his position in the country," said head coach Joe Alberici. "We asked so much of him this season and he consistently delivered. In addition to defending every opponent's top scoring threat, he was a dominant force in the clearing and transition game. "He also bumped up to the wings for nearly every faceoff. John is a humble person and will be the first to point to his teammates as the reason for his success. We are looking forward to even bigger things from him next season as a leader on the team." For the second straight year, Surdick led the Black Knights' defense in caused turnovers.
