The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering's (CME) hosted the first coordination meeting for academic small UAS (sUAS) operations under the new Director of the Academic Flight Program (DAFP) position. The purpose of the meeting was to disseminate sUAS procedures to academic users, discuss upcoming sUAS operations, and review the first airworthiness requests under the recently delegated airworthiness authority. Representatives from EECS, GEnE, CME, and DSE were present for the meeting.
