The forty-seven cadets enrolled in Introduction to Applied Aerodynamics completed flight laboratories in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering's (CME) C-182 aircraft. Cadets paired up to fly with a CME flight section instructor for in-flight demonstrations of basic aerodynamics and theory. Cadet teams collected data and will compare theory from classroom instruction and basic aerodynamics to real-world data in a follow-on technical report. Cadets enrolled in Introduction to Applied Aerodynamics, Aircraft Performance and Static Stability, and Helicopter Aeronautics receive classroom instruction and participate in flight laboratories, often flown by their own course instructor/professor.
