Cadets Attend Lower Hudson Valley Engineering Expo

Faculty from the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering took two Cadets to the Lower Hudson Valley Engineering Expo to represent West Point and the diversity of engineering programs. Cadets Nick McNerney and Annie Schreiner, Student Chapter Cadet Leadership from the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) club, did a superb job providing high school and middle school student’s information they needed to pursue educational opportunities in engineering at West Point. They talked to over 50 students and parents during the 4 ½ hour event and provided the USMA Admissions Office with 32 emails from interested students representing a diverse population of potential future applicants. Participation in this event enabled enrichment of West Point’s interaction with the local community as well as support to New York City SAME Post’s K-12 outreach activities that promote careers in engineering.
