Burggraaf Tabbed Conference Pitcher of the Week

The Patriot League announced Monday that Army West Point' baseball's Daniel Burggraaf was named the conference pitcher of the week. The righty earned his first Patriot League weekly honor of the season and the third of his career. Burggraaf pitched his first career complete-game shutout during Army's seven-inning, 4-0 victory over Holy Cross in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. He gave up just four hits, while striking out nine and not allowing a walk. The cow right-hander faced 24 batters, just three above the minimum. The Belfair, Wash., native improved to 6-1 on the season. He and the rest of the Cadets will play two midweek contests before welcoming Lehigh and Lafayette for a doubleheader over the weekend. Army will host Sacred Heart on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. out-of-conference contest. The following day the Black Knights will head down to Villanova to play the Wildcats in a 3 p.m. road game. Army will then close out its Patriot League regular season schedule with a doubleheader against Lehigh on Saturday and a twin bill against Lafayette on Sunday. First pitch for both days is noon.
