Women's Lacrosse Earns 10th Win

CDT Maddie Miller '20The Army West Point women's lacrosse team closed out its 2018 regular season by outlasting Bucknell on the road, 10-9, Friday afternoon. With the win, the Black Knights earned their first 10-win season, owning a 10-7 mark overall and 4-5 in Patriot League play. Army got its offense going early by scoring three goals over the span of 1:20. Rookie Cameron Manor netted the initial goal on an 8-meter shot. The insurance came 30 seconds later when Rilee Scott took a pass from Rachel Hornick and dodged multiple defenders before juking the Bison goalkeeper and finding the back of the cage. Hornick then found classmate Amy Johnston who capped the early run. While the Black Knights maintained the lead throughout the entirety of the opening period, four of the final six goals in the first half belonged to Bucknell trimmed the visitors' lead to just one at the break, 5-4. Feeding off of the energy of scoring with 14 seconds left in the first stanza, the Bison added three more goals to kick off the final 30 minutes and lead 7-5 with 16-and-a-half-minutes remaining.
