Cadets from Weapons Engineering traveled to Picatinny Arsenal, NJ to visit with scientists and engineers from the Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC). While there, the cadets received technical briefings and visited ballistic lab and test facilities. The agenda, developed by Ms. Tanya Fogg, an ARDEC Executive Fellow, complemented the syllabus and learning objectives. Cadets were exposed to research and development efforts in terminal ballistics, exterior ballistics, interior ballistics, energetics, and Test and Evaluation (T&E). The event was hosted by Dr. Don Carlucci, Chief Scientist at ARDEC and the author of the ME490 textbook, Ballistics. The cadets could see how the fundamental procedures done during labs and the Engineering Design Project (EDP) are performed for lethality capability enhancement pursuits by renowned experts in armaments.
