Briyah Brown and Samantha Coletti of the Army West Point Women's Track and Field Team both earned Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week honors. The honors came after a solid performance from both athletes at the UC Irvine Spring Break Classic in California last weekend. Brown was named the Patriot League Female Field Athlete of the Week as the senior from New Rochelle, N.Y., claimed first place in the hammer throw, while also placing in both the shot put and discus throw. Her throw of 52.93m in the hammer throw was an ECAC qualifying distance. She placed fourth in shot put with a distance of 14.74m, and also threw 41.97m in the discus throw which was good for 10th place. She currently leads the Patriot League in the hammer throw and the shot put, while ranking second in the discus. She is ranked 33rd in the shot put and 65th in the hammer throw in NCAA Division I. Coletti earned the title of Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week as the sophomore from Weymouth, Mass., claimed the title in the 3000-steeplechase at the same meet. She clocked in at 10:45.24, which was an ECAC qualifying time, as well as the top time in the Patriot League and the fifth-best time in NCAA Division I this season. Up next, the team will host Navy at home in the annual Army-Navy Star meet as part of the Star Series presented by USAA on April 7.
