Rifle Wins NCAA Qualifier Match

The Army West Point rifle team defeated MIT for the second time this year in an NCAA Qualification match. Army had a strong showing with Payne Nunn matching a team season best score in air rifle and Clayton Hanson tying the top Army aggregate score for the season. Aggregate (4656) - Army defeated the Engineers at home, 4656-4349. Clayton Hanson had an impressive performance gathering an aggregate score of 1172. He was followed by Payne Nunn who tallied a score of 1167, and Kaitlyn Kutz who scored 1159. Also in the top five scorers were Nathan Brewer and Emiliano Concha-Toro who both scored 1151. Smallbore (2299) - The team garnered a collective score of 2299 in smallbore over MIT's score of 2145. Hanson also led the team in smallbore, earning 580 points. He was followed by Kutz and Concha-Toro who both shot a score of 576. Nunn shot 574 in this discipline, with Brewer and Lovre both shooting 569 to close out the scoring squad. Read More
