Army Taekwondo Defeats NavyThe Army Tae Kwon Do team defeated Navy in spectacular fashion to secure the Army/Navy Warrior Cup for the second year in a row. The event, held in Ike's Riverside Café, was the first time West Point hosted the event, well attended by both cadets and faculty alike, creating an environment that promoted Army's close, but decisive, victory. The night started out with three exhibition matches featuring An Vu, Madeline Ryu and Takhyun Cho, with Vu and Cho claiming victory against higher ranked opponents. The main event consisted of ten black belt matches, with scoring being dependent on the sum score of all the matches, not individual match wins, although match wins can be indicator of a close match and can rule as a tie breaker.

The Army team consisted of cadets Natasha Chick, Hevin Na, Anthony Chargualaf, Jordan Nettles, Ziwei Peng, Mathew Galea, Nicole Nettles, Taylor Reim, Eli Eichenberger and David Kim. It was constant battle for points, the lead changing four times before the end of the match. Navy started out in front, but Chargualaf's stunning 20-point win against Navy's MIDN Michael Kron put Army ahead. The Army team was winning by four points going into the final match, pitting CDT David Kim against MIDN Brian Tat. Both fighters fought well while Tat gained a two-point lead in the last minute of the match, but Kim pressed forward and scored a head kick to win his match and finalize the score to 152-146 Army. At the end of the day, the Army Taekwondo team lifted the Warrior Cup high above their heads in celebration. MVP of the match was CDT Anthony Chargualaf.
