Army West Point forward Alex King was named the Patriot League's men's basketball The Rock Rookie of the Week. King scored a career-high 24 points in the team's 76-64 victory at St. Francis Brooklyn to earn his first career league honor. The Columbus, Ind., native shot 8-of-13 from the floor in the victory, including draining a season-high three 3-pointers on five attempts from behind-the-arc. He was also 5-of-6 from the charity strike and collected a personal-best nine rebounds, including seven on the defensive end. King added two steals against the Terriers as well. He was limited to just two points in seven minutes during Army's victory over service-academy rival Air Force on Sunday at Madison Square Garden, snapping his double-digit scoring streak at five games. Patriot League Men's Basketball - The Rock Player and Rookie of the Week awards are selected in a vote by League media members and each school's sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their own student-athletes. The Black Knights are back on the court Dec. 29 when they begin Patriot League play with a matchup at Boston University. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. in Case Gym.
