Hovren Named Patriot League Player of the Week

Cow forward Madison Hovren of the Army West Point women's basketball team received her third Patriot League Player of the Week honor of the season on Monday. Hovren helped the Black Knights close out the non-conference slate with a win over St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Saturday by posting a game-high 23 points, one shy of her season-high, on 10-of-12 shooting. It was the fourth time in her career that she made double-digit field goals. She also tallied seven boards, a steal and an assist against the Bears. Heading into the holiday break, Hovren is averaging a double-double and ranks third in the Patriot League in scoring at 16.5 points per game, while sitting in second in rebounding with 10.4 per outing. She has eclipsed the 20-point scoring mark four times this season and reached double-digit points in 10 of 11 games. The Black Knights will return to the court on Dec. 29, when they welcome Boston U. to Christl Arena for the Patriot League opener slated for 3 p.m.
