Firstie Marcos Arroyo of the Army West Point men's soccer team was named to the Scholar All-America Second Team by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday afternoon after receiving Scholar All-East Region honors on Wednesday. Arroyo, who garnered Academic All-Patriot League Team accolades in early November and, is the first Black Knight since Winston Boldt '15 to earn Scholar Athlete All-America honors. On top of being a co-captain, All-Patriot League performer and Deputy Brigade Commander, Arroyo has excelled greatly in the classroom, carrying a 3.675 grade-point average as a Physics major. The Oviedo, Fla., native ranks 48th out of 1,043 in his class and has been a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member. On the pitch, he started in all 17 games and logged the most minutes by any Cadet on the team. His impact on the field led him to his second all-league selection and All-Northeast Region Second Team recognition.
