Cadets studying abroad in Jordan had an opportunity for a rich cultural excursion, cadets Cornett, Smadi, Mathias, and Ogando traveled with AMIDEAST on the Jordanian Biblical Excursion, visiting the sites of Jesus’ Baptism in the Jordan River; Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land; the ancient city of Madaba; and the Dead Sea. The experience was enriching culturally, historically, and spiritually. Cadets also participated in the Amman Security Colloquial, hosted by the Arab Institute for Security Studies. They listened to several speakers, sat in on panel discussions, and attended the Security WMD Training Workshop. The conference included various speakers from different (non-US) security perspectives, and enabled cadets to gain a better understanding of the complexity behind the Middle East’s security challenges.
