Clik here to view. The West Point Humanities Center and the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering hosted Mr. Roger Michel, founder of The Institute for Digital Archaeology (IDA), and Dr. Alexy Karenowska, physicist, during a Dean's Hour lecture. The focus of the lecture was on their work in digital archaeology. Mr. Michel's opening remarks focused on the importance of such a venture, and Dr. Karenowska discussed some current and recent projects, which include the re-creation of the Triumphal Arch using 3D printing technology. The lecture not only demonstrated the value of blending science and the humanities, but that without interdisciplinary collaboration in this project, we could lose objects that remind us of shared cultural heritage.
