The Arabic Forum visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art and then experienced cultural immersion in the diverse neighborhood of Astoria. Ten cadets and the Officer in Charge (OIC) explored the METs many exhibits, including "Arms and Armor in the Islamic World" and "Egyptian Expedition." These Arabic- oriented exhibits effectively taught cadets about the history of war and weaponry in the Middle East and the architecture and culture of Egypt. Additionally, cadets visited exhibits such as "The American Wing" and the contemporary displays. After leaving the MET, the trip section visited Astoria, where they had an excellent opportunity to experience Middle Eastern culture and enjoy authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.
