LTC(P) Oxendine, Associate Professor, and LTC Wright, Academy Professor, both from the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering Department’s Geospatial Information Science (GIS) Program, won the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s (USGIF) Essay Challenge for 2017. The challenge was open to all universities accredited by USGIF and posed the question “If you were given dedicated access to an NVIDIA GPU-powered supercomputer, what problems could you solve?” The essay challenge attracts thought leaders from USGIF’s accredited programs to address issues that strengthen national and global security.
