Army West Point Spirit Support

Several cadets from the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering designed and fabricated items in support of the Army West Point Spirit Group. Cadet Eston Smith ’21 made critical repairs to the Spirit Cannon. Specifically, he modified a gun tube support structure and welded it in place. His group then repainted and affixed decals to the cannon. Cadet Austin Adams ’19 repainted the Black Knight suit of armor. He also designed and fabricated replacement leather strapping for several complex pieces of the armor (greaves, gauntlets, sabatons). The Directorate of Cadet Activities (DCA) as well as the Brigade Spirit leadership were appreciative of the ingenuity and selflessness of the cadets that assisted in these projects.
