Cadet Architecture Tour in New York CityCadets in the Elsie Sannes-Pinnell Art Appreciation Forum and the Studio Arts Forum traveled to New York City to conduct a walking tour of various architecturally significant buildings. In the past, these Forums mostly have focused on studying paintings and sculptures in museums, so a trip such as this one, which treats the cityscape as a gallery in and of itself, was the next logical step in broadening cadets’ engagement with the arts. The route included stops at some of New York’s most iconic structures, such as the Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler Building, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Cadets studied a variety of architectural styles including Art Deco, Classical Revival, Byzantine, and Neo-Gothic.
