American Society of Civil Engineer National Convention

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 2018 National Convention took place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Six Cadets, three faculty members from the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (CME) attended. The cadets and faculty attended various sessions with motivational speakers and leaders in the field. This included key speakers including leading economist Marci Rossell, MG Jackson from the Corps of Engineers, and leaders in the Civil Engineering world including several ASCE presidents, past and present. Topics for the sessions included History and Heritage, Professional Development, Significant Projects, State of the Industry, Strategic Issues, Emerging Leaders, Anti-Terrorism (AT) Building design, project management, and resilience planning.
