The Army West Point women's soccer team landed three cadet-athletes on the All-Patriot League teams, the league announced Monday afternoon. Firstie co-captain Clare Shea earned second team honors, while cow Sydney Witham and plebe Sydney Cassalia garnered third team accolades. It was the third time in Shea's career she collected postseason recognition from the Patriot League, as she was named to the third team as a plebe and garnered first team honors last season. Witham and Cassalia were honored for the first time in their careers. Shea was the leading scorer for the Black Knights for the second year in a row, documenting seven points on two goals and three assists. The Allendale, N.J., native led the transition from defense to offense for Army and posted the most shots (32) and shots on goal (14) for the squad. She was one of two Cadets to record a goal and an assist in the same game in 2017, accomplishing the feat against Syracuse on Aug. 24.
