Cadets Visit Historic Kirtland OhioThe Latter-Day Saints Student Association Trip to Historic Kirtland Ohio was a wonderful experience for ten cadets and the Officer in Charge (OIC). There were no issues or incidents, and the young cadets gained a deeper appreciation of the history of the United States in the 1830s, and the LDS Church experience of that era. The cadets visited several sites, including the John Johnson Farm 40 miles south in Hiram, Ohio, which is both a historic site and a working farm. In the Kirtland area, they visited the Kirtland Temple built in 1836 and held a special devotional meeting there Sunday evening. The group visited the old village of Kirtland with historic homes restored and the nearby Isaac Morley Farm. All the sites were inspiring and educational for the group, being both historic and religiously significant.
