An early second-half score proved to be enough as the Army West Point men's soccer team defeated Lafayette, 1-0, in a Patriot League road game on Wednesday night at Oaks Stadium. Army improved to 8-3 overall with the win and 2-1 in league play, while the Leopards fell to 1-9 on the season and 1-2 in conference action. The Lafayette defense tempered the Army attack early with a five-man backline, limiting the Black Knights to three shots in the first half. However, the Cadets broke through in the second stanza and held on to grab the win. Yearling Keenan O'Shea scored his fifth goal of the season. The Army defense did not allow a single shot on goal for the first time this season. Firstie Marcos Arroyo recorded his third assist of the year. The Cadets grabbed their third consecutive win, tying their longest winning streak in 2017. Army's double-digit shot streak ended at 17 games after being held to nine shots against the Leopards. The Black Knights have now won five games this season that have been decided by one goal. Read More
