The Army West Point Water Polo Team participated in a tournament against both collegiate and masters club teams at Villanova University and won all four of their games, winning the tournament. They came out to a big lead over their first opponent Villanova and were able to get some playing time for the rookies, winning 16-7. Cadets Halle Kotchman and Matthew Kim provided strong leadership in a 16-5 victory over Franklin’s club in their second match. In the third game facing an experienced Greater Philadelphia team Cadets Shelby Lee and Kyle Garwick led the team in a 16-7 win. In the last matchup, the faced a team made up of the best players of all the teams in the tournament. Army established a dominant first half, largely in part to goalkeeper, Cadet Jeffrey Stark, making many key saves. Cadet team captain Colin Stone and cadet Leonid Milman had strong showings helping the team to a final of 17-11. The Villanova coach and regional director commended the Army Water Polo team on how they have come a long way in a year. This largely in part to the addition of head coach Christopher Judge, a 1984 Olympic alternate and water polo hall of fame member.
