Nordic Skiing at the Vermont Castleton Invitational

The Army West Point Nordic Ski Team attended the Castleton Invitational at the Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, Vermont. The race hosted by Castleton University was the first event of the Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference (ECSC) season. Fifteen cadets participated in the two-day competition which consisted of a 9KM freestyle event day one and a 7KM classic event day two. Despite being the first time on skis for many members of the team, the cadets persevered through fog and slushy snow. Every cadet who started a race, finished. For the Women, Cadet Fairbanks led the team day one while Cadet Mejia was the highest-placed cadet day two. On the men's team, Cadet Berardino was the highest placed cadet on both days. The team placed 6th in the team rankings in both the Men's and Women's categories.
