The West Point Model United Nations Debate team traveled to Bethesda, MD to compete at the National Collegiate Security Conference, hosted by Georgetown University. NCSC is one of the largest and most competitive Mode UN Conferences of the year, featuring over 550 delegates from over 40 different schools, including top-five teams such as the University of Chicago, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, and Florida International University. Testing a new training approach, and fielding an exceptionally young and relatively inexperienced team, the USMA delegation passionately debated issues from the Cold War to civil conflict in Sierra Leone. At the end of the weekend, the West Point team emerged as the Best Small Delegation for NCSC XLVI - the first place award for the conference - beating out Florida International University, New York University, and dozens of other schools and cementing a place among the top teams in the nation. Individual Awards CDT Lowe: Verbal Commendation, CDT Siebman: Verbal Commendation, CDT Stoffel: Verbal Commendation, CDT Krishnan: Best Delegate, CDT McCurry: Outstanding Delegate, CDT Berry: Outstanding Delegate, CDT Mcvicar: Outstanding Delegate.
