Rifle Places 2nd at Air Force

The Army West Point rifle team came in second at the President's trophy match behind No. 5 Air Force, while taking down No. 15 Navy and Coast Guard. There were two different types of scoring in the quad match. For President's Trophy each team had eight cadets compete, taking the top four scores. For NCAA scoring each team picks five cadets, but takes only the top four scores. Air Force led the pack scoring a 4698 as it outscored the other service academies in both air rifle (2376) and smallbore (2322). The Black Knights came in second with an aggregate score of 4646 shooting 2344 in air rifle and 2302 in smallbore. Navy captured third scoring 4607 with 2272 in smallbore and 2335 in air rifle. Rounding out the scoring was Coast Guard accumulating and aggregate score of 4474 with a 2272 in air rifle and a 2202 in smallbore. Read More
