Habitat for Humanity Trip to Yonkers

11 cadets from Company I3, along with MAJ Brewer, traveled to Chappaqua, NY to help transition an old church and Quaker meeting location into affordable living quarters, in a very affluent community, for two families. Some of these cadets were a part of the initial teardown phase of this project in the spring last semester. During this trip, the cadets were handling jackhammers, shovels, tampers, and picks in order to break concrete around the house and refill trenches with the surrounding dirt mound which saved H4H over $3,000 they would have paid a local contractor to do. Overall, CDTs Nolan, Gould, Daigle, Shyamkumar, Vogel, Brehm, Rapp, Batista, Gilbert, Jaquish, and Abercrombie enjoyed the work at this site and felt a sense of accomplishment after their service to the community.
